Zombieland 2 Back from the Dead with New Screenwriter

Zombieland 2 Back from the Dead with New Screenwriter

After a failed attempt at a tv spinoff a studio is finally breathing life into this sequel that has spent quite a while in development hell.

Is a sequel necessary? No. Will I pay to watch this in theaters? Probably. I'll be keeping an eye on this project but i wouldn't be surprised if this news is all we get for a good while.

Horrible Bosses 2 - Official Main Trailer [HD]

First official Taken 3 trailer.

It seems this installment in the taken franchise will be pretty interesting and not just a forced sequel.

Thoughts on the Gone Girl OST.

Since 2011 David Fincher has almost exclusively worked with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Both times proving that a hauntingly beautiful score is the best companion to a masterfully crafted visual experience that only fincher seems to be able to create. Not many directors can say they've left such a huge imprint on the film industry and its only appropriate that the composer is fitting. Reznor & Atticus have proven their worth with their past work and look to keep that theme going with gone girls soundtrack. The ominous music sets the tone wonderfully for finchers and Gillian's worlds they love to create. From dialogue heavy scenes to long tracking action shots this soundtrack is sure to enhance the intense drama that will be unfolding on screen. If you're like me and can't wait to see the film I highly suggest you give this score a listen. It'll also be great background music if you're looking to read the book before seeing the movie. Stay tuned for mor gone girl news and a special review come Oct. 3.

Chef (2014) review

Plot summary: A chef who loses his restaurant job starts up a food truck in an effort to reclaim his creative promise, while piecing back together his estranged family.
Review:
Jon Favreau's Chef is a feel good comedy sandwich stuffed with all the foodporn and kitchen antics one could ask for! Anyone who has worked in a kitchen can relate and even if you haven't it's a nice little sneak peek into the world of modern restaurants. With the recent popularity of food trucks and late night street food this movie is topical in its use of social media in the advertising of street vendors. Maybe in a few years the heavy use of Twitter in the film might make the movie rather dated but right now in the present day it feels okay and not excessive since it plays a major part in the films plot and helps advance the story. From the beginning to the end the food is amazing but something else that stood out for its flavor was the music! The lively songs gave a certain spice to the film and made that much more bright and colorful. The strong theme of family and the importance of a parents presence in a child's life was a major theme in this film and sometimes seemed a little heavy handed but it never distracted too long from the movies main focus which was the food. Many (like me)  might've missed this one while it was in theaters but it's definitely something you should pick up on dvd or on demand. Having enjoyed this quiet a bit as a food fan I have to say that it's still not anywhere near one of the best films of the year but it does serve its purpose of having a good time and teaching a lesson in family. Sadly and if I must be honest it also seems that this movie won't be very memorable but I'm sure I'll be reminded of it and think "oh yeah I rather enjoyed that movie"
Verdict:6/10

Classic Movies I hadn't seen.

The Usual Suspects (1995)
Plot Summary: A sole survivor tells of the twisty events leading up to a horrific gun battle on a boat, which begin when five criminals meet at a seemingly random police lineup.
Review: I went into this movie having an idea of sorts as to what the major plot twist was because of how long this film has been out, but that didn't at all ruin the experience even from the get go! It's mostly because of Kevin Spaceys acting but at times I forgot what I went in already knowing. Each character delivered a solid convincing performance and made the end result that much better. When it comes to the movies age it felt like its aged rather well and not once did I feel like I was watching a "90's" movie. The pacing was great as was the dialogue and I can definently see why this movie is so highly praised.
If I had to say something negative about this film it'd probably be how forced it sometimes felt to establish spacey's character as the weak and dumb person he was pretending to be. It sort of made the twist a little predictable.
In the end the film was interesting and well done and delivered very well in the last few scenes.
VERDICT: 8/10

New trailer for disney's Big Hero 6 (2014)

The direction Star Trek 3 (2016) is heading in

Let me start off by saying I'm a huge fan of star treks 1&2 and what J.J. Abrams did for the franchise! The feel and overall scale of the movie was grandiose and is some of my favorite SciFi film I've seen. With Abrams leaving the third film to work on Star Wars ep. 7 the directors chair was left empty and a decision had to be made on who would take the reins of the Star Trek universe. It makes sense that writer/producer Robert Orci who has worked with Abrams on many of his films would be the predecessor but this choice has me fearing for what ST3 will look like come 2016. Orci has worked on many films that have done rather well but is notoriously known for adding a certain touch of heavy handed and sometimes unnecessary mystery, of course I'm referring to films such as The amazing Spider-Man 2 and his involvement in the Transformers franchise. Orci is also currently in talks to helm the power rangers reboot and although almost completely unnecessary I'm curious to see if it'll crash and burn or usher in some unexpected era of semi decent reboots even though I know people tend to hate on Hollywood for rebooting and rehashing anything they can get their hands on!
Anyway I'm starting to drift away from my point about what Orci seems to be doing with this movie that I'm cautiously keeping an eye on. Now I'm obviously nobody when it comes to telling this man what he should and shouldn't do with the movie he's getting paid to make but I definitely hope he has even half the love and visio nthat Abrams had for the Star Trek films. On that note only time and reviews will tell what will happen so for now all I can do is wait and wait I shall!

New poster for Nightcrawler (2014)

This new poster for Nightcrawler shows some of the high praise early screenings of the film have been receiving. This will be the directorial debut of writer/director Dan Gilroy and it's looking rather good in terms of tone for the crime drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Looking forward to spending Halloween night watching this intense thriller.
